"Three Stories" by Victor Edison
Three wordless stories that somehow capture the unique balance of life in modern Japan. Crowded urban spaces are tied to sweeping landscapes of Japan's idyllic countryside by dandelion fuzz, allusions to being lost in a new language, and feeling out of sorts and out of place. Edison's draftsmanship and keen sense of detail shines in these stories, but reveal more depth with subsequent readings.
