In this issue, Jonny and his friends face taunting from their fellow students in high school with nightmarish results. They embark on even more challenging costumes for the 1975 Comic Art Convention, leading to a run in with New York’s Finest, and a fateful meeting with a pair of cunning competitors.

When We Were Trekkies is created by Joe Sikoryak, whose experiences at the first Star Trek, Famous Monsters and Comic Art conventions are the basis of this series. The story he tells blends awkward adolescence, nerdish spectacle and a generous spirit of adventure. While certain details are fictionalized, the costumes, festivities and unbridled passions are completely authentic.
